Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Our actions follow our thoughts like a heat seeking missile follows the exhaust of a jet fighter's engine. So in a day when so much around us trains us to find the negative in life, we must aggressively think and pursue the character, the qualities, and the things of God's goodness.

My Prayer...

Holy and Magnificent God, thank you for being better than anything my world can offer me. Thank you for calling me to a higher standard than the world accepts. Thank you for giving me the promise of a better future than any human can imagine. Thank you for giving me a high calling to live up to you. In Jesus' holy name I pray. Amen.

Today I am thankful for:
- a job that provides me with the financial ability to help others
- a safe trip to work
- Christian radio station that helps me focus on the things that are TRULY important
- a warm place to go when it is cold outside

I lift up my eyes to the hills -- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Thoughts from today's verse:
Since God could speak into existence the universe, and since God knows our names and the number of the hairs on our head ... surely we know that we can go to him for our help. Let's lift up our eyes and our hearts to El Shaddai, Lord God of the Mountains, and know the Almighty sees our needs, hears our requests, and cares about our hearts.

My prayer:
Holy and all-powerful Abba Father, I do look to you for help. You are the one true source of redemption, power, comfort, encouragement, hope, and excellence in my life. Please give me the wisdom to know your will and choose your will for my life. Thank you for being faithful through the ages to your people and throughout my life to me. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Today I am thankful for:
- a time of worship with friends
- the ability to sing praises to God
- friends that lead a hand when you aren't feeling well
- a good nights rest

New Years Weekend 2010, my friend Alicia and I set out from Nashville to pick up my buddy, Dave in Memphis. We had many adventures along the way, but made it to Searcy with 5 minutes to spare in ringing in the New Year with my cousins.
Then the big adventure begins, off to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl 2010 in the NEW Cowboys stadium. I dream for a die hard Cowboys fan and a Rebel fan all in one. It was an amazing trip! Lots of fun had by all! The Rebels walked away with the win, becoming the Cotton Bowl Champs, and I left good vibes in the stadium for the Cowboys to beat the Eagles on Sunday.

As I have been faced with the news that my granny is dying of pancreatic cancer and realizing how life can change in a matter of minutes. I am reminded of Jeremy Camp's song, There will be a day! I hope that I can live a life in the footsteps of my granny, so that I can one day spend eternity with her. Because there will be a day....



I try to hold on to this world with everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that trys to grab

The joys and the memories that come with family vacations! From disc golf, to hiking up the mountain, to riding the gondola in fear, to playing match the penguins on little sleep, to swimming in a heated pool when it is cold outside, to the hugs and family photos, to the smiles when we see God's handy work as we worship on the mountain side, to the smiles as we think about next year and the many years to come... it all makes it a once in a lifetime scrapbook that will last forever.
